하버드대학교(Havard University)에서 석사학위M.Div., 옥스퍼드대학교(University of Oxford)에서 조직신학 박사학위D.Phil.을 받았다. 미국 콜로라도 주 덴버신학교(Denver Seminary) 조직신학 교수이자 아시아 사역처장 그리고 한국글로벌캠퍼스(KGC) 학장으로 섬기고 있다. 국제적인 선교단체인 큐리오스 국제선교회Kurios International 대표로 섬기고 있다. 국제커피선교회인 C-Connection의 이사장, 덴버드림교회 담임목사로 사역하고 있다. 지금까지 40여 권의 저서, 편저, 역서를 출간했으며, 수백여 편의 학술·비학술 논문을 발표했다.
