래니액 박사는 휫튼대학(Wheaton College:B.A.)과 고든 쿤웰 신학대학원(Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary:M.DIv.)을 졸업한 후 브랜다이스 대학교(Brandeis University) 대학원과 이스라엘 성지대학원(Institute of Holy Land Studies)에서 공부한 후 하버드대학교(Harvard University Divinity School)에서 신학박사학위를 받고 현재 고든 콘웰 신학대학원 구약학 교수이자 샬 롯 캠퍼스 학장(Charlotte Campus)으로 섬기고 있다.
