저자는 컬럼비아 대학과 유니온 대학에서 박사학위(Ph.D)를 취득했다. 30여 년 동안 트리니티 복음주의 신학교의 신약 신학 교수로 사역했으며, 현재는 명예 교수이다. 저서로는『The Expositor"s Bible Commentary on Luke』,『Interpreting the Books of Acts』,『new Testament Exposition』,『The IVP New Testament Commentary on Ephesians』등이 있다.
