칼라마주대학교(B.A.)를 졸업하였으며, 시카고대학교에서 석사와 박사학위(M.A., Ph.D)를 취득하였다. 현재 밴더빌트신학교 종교 심리학과 문화 교수로 재직 중이다. 저서로 Conundrums in Practical Theology(Brill, 2016), Cgrisrian Practical Wisdom: What It Is, Why It Matters(Eerdmans, 2016), Christian Theology in Practice: Discovering a Discipline(Eerdmans,2012)이 있다.
